What is St. Croix Pony Club?

Pony Club is an educational organization that teaches riding, mounted sports and the care of horses and ponies, and develops in youth the characteristics of responsibility, moral judgment, leadership and self-confidence. Children learn all aspects of good horsemanship as well as a mounted education; graduates of the program are well equipped to manage the care and education of a horse. St. Croix Pony Club is part of the Sunshine Region, covering the U.S. Virgin Islands and portions of Florida and Georgia. St. Croix Pony Club is a charter member of the United States Pony Clubs, established in 1967 and serving the local community for over 30 years. We are ably led by our District Commissioner Bettye Skeoch with significant assistance from many parents, sponsors and graduated members.

Pony Club provides opportunities for instruction and competition in English riding, horse sports and horse management for children and young adults up to 25 years of age. The term "pony" refers to a mount, regardless of breed or size. Horses and ponies of many different breeds, shapes, and sizes are seen in Pony Club activities.
